Gage Language Power

A Canadian language program! Gage Language Power emphasizes language conventions, writing, and study. Each book consists of six units addressing key skill areas - vocabulary, sentences, grammar and usage, capitalization and punctuation, composition, and study skills. The composition unit stresses effective writing and includes process-writing techniques such as clustering and brainstorming, as well as structural skills like writing topic sentences, selecting supporting details, and choosing words. Study skills focus on dictionary and library skills. Each lesson begins with a learning objective and a new rule followed by an example. Exercises at the end of each lesson and each unit provide practice and the opportunity to see high-interest, real-life/everyday applications. Thorough reviews for each unit and a final book review provide ample support for monitoring student progress.
